Walkthrough & Notes
Yellowfang is a fairly ordinary wolf; the trick is finding him. He won't appear until you have killed several other wolves. As Gytha advised, use your tracking skills. Once you have killed 15 wolves, use Passage of Foes to find him and follow the red dot. Until you've memorized the Old Forest layout, you may need to use the map to find your way through the trees.

Bestowal Dialogue "A terrible and vicious wolf called Yellowfang stalks through the Old Forest, often ambushing travellers upon the Great East Road. The accomplished huntress Gytha Lainey is resolved to ridding the Forest of this savage threat...." Background Gytha Lainey has brought you into the Old Forest to challenge your skill as a hunter. Objective 1 Defeat Yellowfang Yellowfang is somewhere within the Old Forest. Gytha Lainey has tasked you with defeating Yellowfang, a deadly wolf that stalks the Old Forest. She warned you that Yellowfang is cunning, and you will need to devise some way to lure her out of hiding. Gytha Lainey: 'Yellowfang is hiding somewhere within the Old Forest, but you will need to show some cunning of your own if you want to locate her, <name>. 'I will wait here for you to defeat the mighty wolf. If you are worthy of calling yourself a hunter, you should be able to do this deed.' Defeated Yellowfang Objective 2 Talk to Gytha Lainey Gytha Lainey is waiting for you somewhere in the Old Forest. Gytha will be both pleased and surprised to know that you have defeated Yellowfang. Gytha Lainey: 'Yellowfang is no more? I am surprised, <name>, but I have no reason to doubt your words. It could be that I misjudged your worth as a hunter.' Gytha Lainey: 'I will lead the way back to Adso's camp, <name>, if you are ready to leave.'
